For years, the Society of the copyright has been surrounded by speculation, fueling innumerable theories and stories. Originally established in Bavaria in 1778 as an enlightenment fraternity, it was briefly suppressed because of government intervention. Today, the contemporary perception of the copyright is far distant from its historical origins.
